There's no such thing as typical wedding clients or wedding booking. That's what makes it such a fun experience for me to be commissioned to photograph your wedding day. Wedding clients can be wacky, fun, crazy, shy, organised or not. Venues, guests and the Great British weather can all be unpredictable but I wouldn't have it any other way, it makes my job as a documentary wedding photographer so exciting and rewarding. So to help you a little I thought it might help to run through a booking from start to finish. A kind of holding your hand through the process, as planning a wedding is nerve racking enough and it helps to know that at least your chosen photographer is on your side! To let me outline the way I like to create the perfect wedding story.
Being commissioned to shoot your wedding is more than just having me turn up and rattling off a few pictures. Don't make the mistake of hiring a photographer on just price alone. Its about hiring someone who is dedicated to building up a fun rapport with you & your partner. Its about finding someone you like, feel happy and relaxed with, but who's still professional in his out look to your booking.
The best way to start by you contacting me by filling out the form on the contact page with as much information as you think important. Just don't forget to give me the date you're planning to get married and the venue if you know it and most important of all leave your email and phone number, (which I promise will never be used by anyone else other than myself to contact you). I'll get back to you asap and arrange a time we can have a relaxed chat on the phone about your wedding day plans. We'll probably exchange a few more calls and detailed emails about you & your partner, your wedding ideas, plans and anything else we might need to know.
I offer a fun engagement or "couple shoot" with all my wedding packages. We'll arrange a time to meet up with you at a location near your home or one that's special to you. On that day we can meet for a coffee first before we head off to take a hour or so having fun shooting. After a hesitant start couples really enjoy the engagement shoot. Its a time to have fun, let your hair down, enjoy yourself and have a laugh. It gives both you and I a chance to work together and for you to get relaxed in front of the camera while having your photos taken by a pro. I also get to work out the dynamics of you as a couple, which is invaluable when it comes to capturing the relaxed and flattering images that you'll want on your wedding day.
Then, come your wedding day, I'll arrive nice and early to start shooting the Bridal Preparations. I'll keep shooting in an quietly during the ceremony concentrating on building the complete story of your wedding day. Only occasionally giving people directions, normally to make the most of the location or the flattering light. When the guests are relaxed I'll grab some group shots to keep the older relatives happy.
I'll continue to work capturing candid portraits and fun shots of you and your guests during the reception and speeches. During the quieter moments of your busy wedding day we'll find time to nip off and slow down to capture some beautiful Bride and Groom portraits.
If you upgrade to my more exclusive wedding day package you will have the added benefit of a second photographer who will cover the Groom's preparations and supplement my coverage of the wedding giving you even more choice of images and memories.
Depending on which package you choose I'll keep shooting all the way through to your first dance and even a bit beyond if the party's really happening.
I'll get busy over the next few days after the wedding when you're probably jetting off to some sunny honeymoon destination, editing the images and putting a selection online on a secure online gallery for you and your invited guests to enjoy when you get back.
Later normally a few weeks after you return we can get together for a private viewing for you to see the print ready images over a glass or two of complimentary "Bubbly"! We'll choose the favourites to include in your quality wedding album.
A couple of months later your beautiful album will arrive along with a lovely boxed memory card of 200 + images. If you lwant to order framed images, extra "Parent Album's or have help choosing an image for a Thank You Card I"ll always be happy to oblige!
